Handcrafted truly unique sculpture. Crafted from burr Elm wood. As the name suggests this piece was created to convey the love between a parent and child. The smaller heart is crafted from the same piece of Elm as the larger one - to convey while unique each has a similar DNA. I’ve used colouring’s sparingly to allow the natural grain colours and patterns to sing for themselves. I have used colourings on the face of the small heart in order to help define it’s shape. Both pieces have a little gold gilding to enhance the overall appearance. I’ve finished this piece with a durable lacquer. This very unique piece of timber sat in the workshop for months while I considered how best to use it - I hope you agree it was worth the wait. The piece stands 400mm (15 3/4 inches) high x 250mm (10 inches) wide x 300mm (12 inches) deep. The hearts are mounted on a stained and laquered hardwood base via brass rods.
